Coco (Ms Mint) Coco was staying back with us while we decided whether she would be a permanent addition here or if it would be in her best interest to place her out in a lifelong home on breeders terms. She is a delightful puppy with a tail that seems to wag double time. She oozes confidence without being over the top. She has always been one of the first puppies to explore new areas and quickly adapts to new environments. She is very at ease around our adult dogs and young children and with all visitors. She is joyous and takes everything in stride. She loves to play tug and chase with toys and takes treats making her easily motivated with training. Coco has Bilateral hearing (can hear in both ears) confirmed by BAER tested and is on the ANKC main register. Breeder's terms for For Coco We would want an opportunity to look at her after 12 months to decide if she's maturing as we hoped. If she IS we would ask to - Show her over a few weekends (we usually travel for these to get it done as quickly as possible), - Health test(DNA, Hip and elbow scores, cardiac echo), - Perform an Endurance test and 4x working pack dog trials (a total of 5 events between the age of 2 and 8 years old but these can also be done after Neutering). - Have one litter at approximately 3 years age - IF a litter Eventuates we would reimburse the purchase price of Coco in return. If she has NOT matured as we hoped then she is welcome to be desexed and none of the above would be pursued.
We've created this site to document our continuing journey with our beautiful Dalmatian companions but also to educate on this wonderful breed. We will post our triumphs and adventures with our spotty companions. Especially as we step up in training, performance sports, trialing and conformation but also as we plan and prepare for our litters. All our litters are raised using the PUPPY CULTURE program and AVIDOG systems.
We health test our personal dogs to some of the highest standards for Dalmatian breeders in Australia - BAER MANDATORY - Hips and elbow scorings(CHEDS/ANKC ORCHID) - Ongoing cardiac clearances (Echo and Ausciltation) - DNA testing - and blood tests including thyroid results. We do masses of pedigree research to avoid lines with non testable or late onset issues such as known stone formers, epilepsy and DCM. Good temperament is non negotiable in our dogs and potential mates(Dalmatians should be free of fear and aggression). Good sound structure, spotting and pigment is also pursued and of course we keep our dogs active and stimulated with a huge variety of dog sports and training as well as showing in conformation. A quick look at our dogs will show you not only are they awarded champion titles for being good examples of the breed at dog shows They are also versatile and trainable excelling in dog sports with titles in many diffferent disciplines. Although we do breed for show and sports prospects for ourselves We produce beautiful companions that are of the same high quality for pet homes - healthy, well built, sound of mind, wonderful temperaments and confident in the world.
